Bonded warehousing - Excise goods

Meerendonk uses several bonded warehouse. There are different types of bonded licenses but in most cases deferment of payment of import duties is applicable till the moment of outbound warehouse. With bonded warehouse type C, D and E there is a possibility of payment of import duty per month. This has a financial profit for the principal. Depending on type of license there is a minimal physical chep by customs. In case of outbound the goods can also be placed under customs check again.

When wine or other alcholic beverages are custom cleared for import, they can be stored in an AGP, a special warehouse for excise goods on which the excise is not paid yet. This provides a financial profit and if goods are distributed to another country within the European Union no payment of excise is needed in the Netherlands.
