Training and control
Meerendonk is an intermediary between parties in the supply chain. As such, we train and support suppliers and logistic service providers to deliver just what you, our client, want. With you, we set up a Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) to make the supply chain workable for all parties. The SOP has the following aims:
> Standardising cargo pick-up/delivery procedures;
> Eliminating possible delays or errors due to personnel changes at vendors or service providers;
> Establishing contacts with the vendor prior to scheduled ex-factory dates;
> Ensuring compliance with ex-factory dates, with an advance alert being given of any delays;
> Arranging express pick-up/delivery in the event of an urgent shipping window (with the client’s consent);
> Scheduling regular vendor visits and vendor-review reports;
> Improving communications and promoting understanding of vendors.
